Disable disabling automatic suspend

Sometimes when i run some hard software on my laptop (IntelliJ, Unit test), Manjaro disable automatic suspend during high power consumption. I can’t even suspend my laptop from menu, i can only shutdown it.

It write in Settings → Power: “Disabling automatic suspend will result in higher power consumption. It is recommended to keep automatic suspend enabled.”

How can i disable this “disabling feature” to suspend and then hibernate my laptop always?
And what was reason to make this “very useful feature”?

We have no system information to work with. For us to provide advice or suggestions It will usually help if you provide your inxi output:

inxi -zv8

… please use the code formatting (the </> button at the top of the Reply window or the three backticks ``` on lines above and below the pasted output).

Note: This output is privacy-filtered using the above command.

Cheers, and welcome back!

I don’t think Manjaro has a built in feature to disable suspend during high power consumption, perhaps IntelliJ does?

This only seems to appear if you have suspend disabled and may relate to the following article discussing EU legislation. (The wording is the same)

Warning message down. I don’t know why, but now i can suspend and hibernate…

It is a bit hard to understand what you’re talking about, but you’re probably meaning completely other feature: the power inhibition. Usually used by media programs and browsers to inhibit suspend in the middle of a video, i can imagine a compiler has it too, so that the machine doesn’t suspend during compilation.

If it is actually on the whole time (without compiling) it is a bug with intellij.

Power inhibition can be disabled in several ways, with systemd commands for example. Look here for some inspiration:

It is for something else but at least checking the theory should also work for gnome

dbus-send --print-reply=literal --dest=org.freedesktop.PowerManagement /org/freedesktop/PowerManagement/Inhibit org.freedesktop.PowerManagement.Inhibit.GetInhibitors

And then you google how to stop it in your case.
