Disable Control Key

Is it possible for me to run a command that temporarily disables a key? For some applications I use, the ctrl button is a hindrance, is there a way to temporarily disable it? I am on xfce4

You could try…

xmodmap -e "clear Control"

For more information, see…

man xmodmap

I have no .Xmodmap directory…
