Digikam database drivers install

I am trying to get digikam reinstalled on a new pc.

The install works ok, but wont attach to an existing mariadb database located elsewhere in my network.

The program gives a dreaded “Driver not Loaded” error.

After speaking with digikam, they expect the sql drivers to be installed by the distro… in the case of ubunutu… libqt6sql6-mysql

So in short… if not loaded by manjaro at install… what qt plugin to do I install to get this working ? I am mystified by this…

By the way… using debeaver to access the database is fine… no problems at all… dbeaver prompts for the download and does it on the fly. Digikam… is bereft.

I am just wondering if the mariadb-libs package might be the one you need. The Arch Linux - qt6-base 6.8.2-3 (x86_64) page shows the following as a dependency:

I am thinking you might be right… though I actually can’t be sure. I tried installing and uninstalling a few things…

Truth is… it’s actually working now… though I can’t fully explain how this was done.

many thanks again for reaching out.
