There seems to be some problem with Steam and some combination of this update, whether it’s KDE 5.26.2 or the 6.1 kernel or something. I’ve had difficulties getting the Steam client to start or return from gaming, and twice I’ve resolved it by closing the KDE System Monitor. Unfortunately I cannot pinpoint anything else… 
Not sure if it’s a Manjaro problem, or Arch, or KDE, or Steam, or something else. Helpful, huh?

Not sure if it’s related but steam is a bit funky with me. Struggling to close windows and only really wants to work in big picture mode. Not much of a gamer so haven’t got round to investigating
No issues with steam here, I do run the beta client.
starting steam from the terminal will output some relevant data, following the journal might also give some insight.

I just tried it again, closed the working Steam, re-ran Steam, and it froze again after successfully logging in. The main Steam window (STORE LIBRARY COMMUNITY ) popped up but nothing else in that window until I closed KDE’s System Monitor, then the Steam window finished loading.
If it helps I have KDE’s display configuration for X11 Legacy apps (X11) set to Scaled by the system, since I’m pretty sure Steam is X11.

An initial search tells me you’re missing some libraries for Steam. You might want to try a reinstall of Steam from pacman, it should install required dependencies
