Thanks, @TriMoon, I guess I should have done more searching before posting here. This solved the issue for me:

try with this parameter:
open this file:
etc/default/grub
and edit this line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT - inside the quotes add this parameter:
mem_sleep_default=deep
dont remove anything from there, just add it to existing one, save the file and update grub:
sudo update-grub
reboot and test
