Desktop is stuck after turning off my computer

Manjaro starts up and then im on desktop but cant move my mouse and hitting the windows key doesnt do anything either. This is after I just turned off my computer.

For interactivity:

For sharing/finding/formatting info:

For pastebin from command line if needed:

Oh nevermind now it works?? Third restarts the charm this is inexplainable.

What? I started my program adn then it frose again

Problem is I cant login to my tty. I have a usb boot ready so I can try that ig.

I can for example open htop for like 10 seconds then it ig crashes

It might be fine enough to boot into runlevel 3. Maybe.

You can also use the live USB to chroot (rather manjaro-chroot) in.

manjaro-chroot doesnt work
Cant create chroot on non directory
Should I try to boot into runlevel 3? Idk how to od it but I can search it.
Manjaro chroot a works
Ill run sudo pacman syu

Did you not look at any of the links ?

Isk how to get into grub

Grub is the thing you see after turning on the computer.
Where you select the kernel.
The guide also has this bit in the case of ‘hidden’ grub:

Idk when to press esc or shift. To choose my kernel I usually just press f12 but rn the key is broken so i have to go to bios and change the priority.

You cannot select kernel from BIOS.
Unless you have some really odd setup.

GRUB is the bootloader.
Its the first thing that runs.

It might look like this:

If you never see it … then hit Esc during boot as noted.

Ive never seen that in my life they said hit esc during boot idk when so I tried holding it idnt work when do i hit it?

This is wwhatI got

…And thats your BIOS, not GRUB.

When you select manjaro there … the first thing it will do is launch grub.

You would try to hit Esc then, directly after starting.

If that doesnt work … there would be ways to augment the grub configuration file so that it is not hidden … but if your system does not function for more than a few seconds that is not viable either.

So you will need to use the live usb I suppose.

Heres a bunch of chroot instructions:

I never had grub so why would I want to restore it

Links have more information than just whatever you can read on the title.
Please learn to follow them when they are provided.
And you have grub … even if you dont know what it is.
There are technically other bootloaders … but since its all a mystery to you … it is grub, because thats the default.

I dont know what you are trying to show because that video is private.

But I would probably bet that instructions to do chroot and how would be the same and are still available at the wiki link above.

And so it will remain (or get worse) until you start reading the links provided, and following the good advice from @cscs

(Wisdom lies in asking → listening → reading  )
:footprints:

They say to chrrot but as I said chroot isn’t working.
