Deezer window size doesn't save on exit

Hello to everyone! I’ve a problem, about the Deezer application situated on flatpak.

Until now i’ve utilized the Deezer application present in AUR (it is a fork of flatpak app, made by another user). It, until now, have ever worked fine, but seem no more supported, or not more updated from github AUR user. So, i would like to use the original flatpak version of this application, but it have a bit problem with it: the window size don’t want save itself at exit. Every time i launch this flatpak app, his window is to a default size, for example 600x480. Too small for me.

I’m using wayland, and this app is a Electron app. Maybe is a bug of all electron app that don’t want save window size at exit? Maybe… but the AUR Deezer fork app save correctly windows size at exit. It seem to me very strange. I fact the AUR app, in his .config folder save a file called settings.json with this in

{“windowState”:{“width”:1786,“height”:1203,“x”:424,“y”:101,“displayId”:33,“isMaximized”:false}}

Tanks at this file?

Really i don’t know how to resolve.

Maybe is a flatpak app bug? Or a Electron bug? I don’t know…

Can you help me?

Thank you very much!

EDIT: I’ve noted just now that long time after, the AUR Deezer app was updated. But the issue is not resolved and i would like it.

Moderator edit: Topic title edited. Please see How to Post.

It appears that only people with a deezer subscription could even try to comment and help,
because one does apparently need some kind of subscription to even get it via their web site..

… how about you delete this settings.json file? @donfabino

I use xorg everywhere - I use Xfce4.
And only VM’s where wayland never is the default, but still seems to work when I switch to it in KDE or Gnome.

Does it work as expected under Xorg? Any DE (as of now) can be started with Xorg instead of Wayland.

Soon that won’t be possible anymore, from what I read about future Gnome and Plasma builds,
which will be wayland only, as far as I understood it.

Let’s see how well that goes down …

Restoring an application to a width and height the application has saved in a configuration file is internal to the application - hence the configuration file.

If the app in question fails to resize it’s own window - this is an application issue - and there is no one to offer a solution but the app in question.

As this has nothing to do with Manjaro Linux - my suggestion is that you connect with the developers of the app - raise the issue with the vendor’s support channel.

I do have a deezer subscription … and / but …

I do not use the AUR/flatpak app but just the PWA through e.g. Brave or any other chromium browser (progressive web app, “install as an app”,)

Works without any issues and no dedicated further software needed.

Thank you very much for each reponse. To each of you. Really.

The issue appear even on xorg as well as on wayland. Unfortunately.

Effectly i supposed that this issue don’t have nothing to do with Manjaro, but i tried to ask anyway here becaus there are in many people very smart. Maybe i could have solved it, but it’s not is this the case. So, the issue come from application as i would have understand.

Luckely the AUR package it’s still maintained. I will use that, for the moment, at least until will not adjust the flatpak version.

I wouldn’t want to use a web app because i don’t know if the audio quality rest the same. Maybe yes, but i’m not secure.

Thank you again!

EDIT: it’s very strange that no one have suggested about the issue on web page of the project. I’m the only one? Very strange

I agree. However, it may have something to do with it being a flatpak – being containerised applications, they are naturally isolated from the host system in varied ways.

As strange as it may seem to be, the fork may likely be your best option. It seems all we can really so is to wish you luck.

Regards.
