Dedicated GPU not working

I am new to Linux so I used an old laptop to try it out as a daily driver. Everything went well until I wanted to do some light gaming. It defaulted to the Intel integrated graphics and not to my Nvidia gpu.

ERROR: nvidia-settings could not find the registry key file. This file should have been installed along with this driver at

I have 390xx Bumblebee installed, I tried reinstalling it and the distro but nothing seems to work for me. Would anyone have an easy solution for a beginner?

I think you need to use the “primeusrun” command to launch programs on your nvidia card. Never used bumblebee myself but this little guide from the archived forums should help

Thank you very much for your help the optimus manager worked for me. Hopefully it will be easier to use in the future.
