sysctl -a

systctl the.option.to.check
ex:
$ sysctl vm.min_free_kbytes
vm.min_free_kbytes = 67584
PS. I’ll just link the tool again …
(And a reminder that while the utility was made in retort to all the crappy ‘automatic make things faster’ that existed at the time … The system admin is still the only one who knows whats really ‘best’ … use custom input if/where you can. For situations like above where ‘setting’ one of these options is less than familiar … this will help facilitate that.)
