Greetings,
I’ve been getting tens of thousands of soft system errors a day, up to 20 lines every 2 seconds from journalctl -f, relating to chromium based apps being launched with bad arguments passed from (supposedly?) environment variables. I’m looking for the common launch script or conf file that’s generating these errors, which seem to be related to anything running chromium and using crashpad.

I’m seeing errors for at least skypeforlinux, edge browser and brave browser. I think the problem is plasmashell not being able to parse the “–crash-reporter=,” argument, because it’s the only thing that looks fishy to me (see process list below). But I don’t know for sure because I can’t find where these programs get their arguments from. I found the brave launcher script (/bin/brave) and saw that it referenced the XDG_CONFIG_HOME env var, but I don’t have that variable defined. I saw the launcher also referenced overriding command line arguments using the file ~/.config/brave-flags.conf, but it doesn’t actually override the default, it just adds more flags to it.
