CPU max frequency is "wrong"

I have a ryzen 1800x and it should be able to go to ~4GHz, but the max speed that is reported by the system is 3.6GHz, I am not sure whether I have to enable something in the UEFI screen, but I tried setting

sudo cpupower frequency-set -u 4Ghz

and it didn’t move over 3.6 GHz ?

That is quite normal… it reports min and max frequency. Over 3.6 GHz is the so called temporary “boost” where it just looks like 1 core is running at 4 GHz for a single thread.

So in general it should clock up to 4 Ghz if it can and when asked.
