Hi,
I have this strange behavior whenever I get to wake my laptop up,
If there is a previously open window,
Clicking on it does not give me back the control on it.
I have to first click on the XFCE menu button for instance, then this window again to regain control over it.
Could someone help me to solve this.
It can be really bothering when for instance I am on a full screen app, at waking up, I’ll have to find a way to exit the full screen or make the desktop appear again to have a access to the menu before being able to get back to my fullscreen app.
Thanks in advance

Is this a older bug or is this bug just showing up after the latest update?
I don’t use XFCE, but what comes in my mind after hearing this.
As work around that you may just want to look at your hotkeys for your desktop.
For my Taskbar under KDE i can press my Windows-Button on my Keyboard, that opens the Taskbar (you mean this for XFCE menu, right?),
this also works for fullscreen applications.
When this work around is not a good solution for you and since no other XFCE user steps in here and if you have no problem with random tinkering…
-
You may want to restore this swap values to default. Maybe this lead to your issue?
-
You can also probably play around with compositor settings on/off.
In via XFCE Menu—>Settings—>Window Manager Tweaks—> Compositor tab—>Check mark for “Enable display compositing”.
Hi
Yep sure I am OK with workaround and I do that already when needed.
As per the swap values, I am not sure I’ve set that up myself, or if I did that was following a procedure to setup hibernation.
How should I try to set that back to the default ?
I’ll google that.
OK for the compositor tweaks I’ll check this.
Also, nope it’s rather something that’s been occurring for a long time.
You can additional see this with:
cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness
If you see the value 10 then edit:
sudo nano /etc/sysctl.d/100-manjaro.conf
vm.swappiness=10
And change back to 60
btw i had manually switched to swappiness 10 as i was new to Manjaro and i had edited this file for myself (recommended from Techhut youtube channel 4 years ago). So im pretty sure, value 10 isn’t default or at least it wasn’t… maybe with a new install this default settings changed silently? But i don’t think so ![]()
