Continual Issues with PC Freezing during usage

Hi All,

I made a post earlier and it seems that it was fixed but it turns out it is not. During regular usage it seems that my PC will slowly curtail to a halt, seeming that its losing track of its files. See the attached photos. Any help is appreciated.

there is big scrap with your virtual machine and remote-setup. whatever you did ( your information to this is zero ).

I apologize, I do not understand what you are telling me.

Sounds like a drive starting to fail. Have you checked your drives’ health?

I am going to give smartctl a go tho! I dont think its a S.M.A.R.T. Error. I was able to reproduce the error by playing payday 2 and running timeshift.

I had a similar problem when I used XFCE in the past, and it turned out to be Thunar. Once I switched it for PCManFM I never had such problems again.

Hi,

So I disabled timeshift from running intermittently, limiting the amount of backups it does and disallowed timeshift to back up my personal data. I believe that something with the application for my video game or more generally my decision to allow timeshift to back up my personal files was causing the game to crash and the IO errors. Since disabling timeshift’s ability to do this I have not had issues.

Thank you all
