What happens I think is I used to have KDE ( years ago) and some upgrade went wrong and somehow, with help, I switched to Xfce. If I understand correctly the remnants of KDE are in the way but I don’t know how to solve this.
Grateful for any help…step by step if possible

Moderator edit: In the future, please use proper formatting: [HowTo] Post command output and file content as formatted text

Please provide the output of:

inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width

Use the search if you must.

You have unsupported packages.

You also have packages that require manual intervention.

Remove the offending aliens then run

sudo pacman -Syuu

In the add remove programs there is the section installed and “orphans”. And above a button remove all.

Try this to start with:

sudo pacman -Rs kalarmcal kfloppy kipi-plugins kpeoplevcard telepathy

and post the output.

emphasised texterror: target not found: telepathy

OK, try again without telepathy.
