Computer hanging indefinitely on shutdown through start menu

Updated yesterday via pacman and I have not been able to shutdown my computer from the start menu. Updated from Linux 6.1.111-1 to Linux 6.6.52-1 to see if that would fix the issue but it’s still a problem.

I can shutdown perfectly fine if I do shutdown now from console, so it seems like there’s an issue with the DE? I’ve also used fsck to see if it’s a filesystem issue, but it came back okay.

This is it, thank you! Don’t know why I didn’t see this when I was searching.

After update yesterday (some 400 packages) I have two PC’s that won’t shutdown.
The symptom is black screen with cursor.

One PC:
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2
Kernel Version: 6.11.0-6-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 6 × AMD FX™-6350 Six-Core Processor
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060/PCIe/SSE2

The other is the same Manjaro details but different hardware, Intel cpu (both NVIDIA, but different versions.

There was some NVIDIA update in the 400.

I’ve tried several of the things mentioned in threads from 2020, they still don’t shutdown.

@drmacro do you also have saved session enabled?

What do you mean “saved session”?

Once I figured out you were talking about the session settings in system settings application, I set as you specify.

It appears to have corrected it on both PC’s.

Thanks you very much!
