Claude-cowork-linux install: /usr/lib/electron already exists

Hello,

When installing claude-cowork-linux with:
yay -S claude-cowork-linux

I get the following error:

claude-cowork-linux: /usr/lib/electron already exists in filesystem (owned by electron)

How can I cleanly resolve this? Thanks!

Hi @moufles05,

If you read on it’s AUR page ytou’ll find many problems with it, all of 'em from this year and the latest one from the 26th of last month. Which states:

Just installed this today and it gets stuck at setting up workspace.
[…]
The ClaudeCode.prepare IPC call rejects immediately because linux-x64 is not in its supported platform list. This likely prevents the cowork agent/code features from initializing.

Which makes me think this isn’t properly packaged, or something else. But I think the end result it the same: we won’t be getting it to work. Sorry.

:sob:

Edit:

Perhaps this helps:

Note:
I don’t have anything docker- or even container-related on my PC, so can’t help with anything to do with that. So if something breaks or goes wrong, you’re on your own.
