after i updated to chrome 91 today i found that hardware video acceleration was disabled. i had it enabled using the flag “enable-accelerated-video-decode” in the flags page. it was working that way till chrome 90. however after the update into 91, the flag “enable-accelerated-video-decode” is no more in the flags page.
to get back you have to manually add
--enable-features=VaapiVideoDecoder
in to the commandline (in the shortcut) you invoke it with
