Chrome font size in tabs and menu

Hi! I’m puzzled why the font size in the tabs and menus in Chrome is different in google-chrome-beta and google-chrome-stable. The font in the google-chrome-beta seems to be scaled, but I’m not using force-device-scale-factor in both cases. And in both cases I’m using the Classic theme in Chrome.

Summary

What could cause this difference? Thanks!

Of these images, which is stable and which is beta?

It’s a beta, so what?
But it would be important to know which desktop (e.g., KDE) you use.

It’s gnome with wayland

I suggest you ask the chrome developers - it is next to impossible to know what google developers think.

If the beta version has larger fonts - then it is something in the chrome browser engine - a lab or something - if the browser reads a value from the system and parses it wrong - e.g. your scale is already 200% but then google reads the value scale and by error scales to 400% - who knows…

I guess I must have changed some setting that causes this, as I was tweaking the display to get reasonable sizes (I have a HiDPI monitor). But I can not figure out which one…

Perhaps one of these places

  • Settings → Display
  • Tweaks → Fonts → Scaling Factor
  • Manjaro Hello → Gnome Layout Switcher/Manager
  • Settings → Displays: I put the Scale back to 100%
  • Tweaks → Fonts → Scaling Factor: 1.5

And… did this resolve things?
You left it very much in the air.

I notice you joined the forum only 15 hours ago, and haven’t spent much time reading anything apart from two topics.
