Changing Hardware Components

Hello Manjaro Linux community…

I’m using the LXDE version of Manjaro and I’m extremely satisfied with the system.

In the next few months, I’m going to change all my hardware components, and my question is… can I use the current version of my Manjaro LXDE? In this case, I even intend to change the SSD.

Is it possible to make a copy of my current Manjaro system, with the programs and the way it is configured, to run on my new computer, with the new components?

can you be more specific ( exemple intel for amd cpu , etc … )

  • for motherboard
  • for cpu
  • for video card
  • SSD for Nmve

If the patitioning is setup correctly (separate home partition), then the reinstallation is easy.

  • Remove any proprietary driver before switching. Reinstall them after the switch as needed.
  • If you move/duplicate partitions to new drives, keep in mind that the UUIDs will be different. You may need to update mount configurations afterwards.

  • for motherboard
    Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS

  • for cpu
    AMD Ryzen 7 5700G

  • for video card
    none

  • RAM Memory
4x Patriot Patriot Viper Steel DDR4-4400

  • SSD for Nmve
    Samsung 870 Evo 500GB

no need to go more than 3200 DDR4 for this CPU
choose if possible lowest CAS latency in range DDR4 3200 -3600 - 4000
be careful on price

better to see with 2x 16go ( or more ) not in 4x

for example , Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Series 16 Go PC25600 - 2x 8 Go CL 16

for Nmve , samsung is no more good
( see better Crucial with P1 or P5 models , or corsair MP510 models )

and what you have got before (in cpu & gpu )

The initrd must be rebuild after changing the components.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I want to build a new computer that uses the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G processor
I don’t understand very well about Hardware components, but I would like to be able to use the best parts (as far as possible), that complement and get the most out of the processor.
