Changing default DE

i intalled manjaro with budgie desktop, but now i use mate and budgie is shown as default, what do i do to make mate my default desktop considering the fact i have other DEs too

Install Mate DE from MATE - ArchWiki and choose it while logging in with your display manager.

AFAIK the last used DE is selected by default. It might depend on the login manager though…
