You will need to use coolbits
in the /etc/X11/mhwd.d/nvidia.conf
And probably best then to use GreenWithEnvy aka gwe
from repos to create a profile …
I see controls for power limits and such, is there a way to set it up by giving it a target limit temp?
In principle yes, you should be able to have that custom profile for temperature too
I set coolbits to 8 by terminal and by hand but profiles are still not showing.
I did it for the file in: /etc/X11/mhwd.d/nvidia.conf
and /etc/X11/xorg.conf
edit: w8 I do need to restart xorg, right?
edit 2: I made this chage:
I set my limit from 125 W to 85.
found no option for target temp though.
will report if the temps are lower after testing.
Edit 3:
I manage to lower temps with that but it’s always around my target. but I would say good enough.
Ty for helping.
