I have a pair of headphones connected to my front out via 3.5mm and my 5.1 connected to the rear out via 3.5mm. While the headphones are disconnected, the 5.1 works via the “Line Out” option, but as soon as the headphones are plugged in, the 5.1 starts generating a static noise. And, if the audio is set to “Line Out” between “Headphones” and “Line Out” then nothing is audible through the 5.1. In Windows, Realtek Audio Console shows an option of seperating these devices, or combining them. If they’re combined, you can play the same audio back on both the line out and the headphone out, and if they’re seperate, you can use either, with both of the devices connected via 3.5mm. Please help. I don’t want wear on my headphone jack/cable because I’m using fairly good headphones and I want them, and the system too, to last as long as possible. I’m regularly switching between the headphones and the system, so unplugging and plugging in the headphones isn’t a permanent solution.
