Can't set Light themes on Pi 5 Gnome

i downloaded the latest release from here

works fine on my Pi 5.
strangely i can’t seem to set any light themes either through the Settings Appearance panel, or through Gnome Tweaks. Any light theme I select makes the left panel of the Files App light, but the main panel is still dark.

erase .config gtk3 and gtk4. Manjaro theme has some problem.

also, any way to remove the manjaro terminal branding? i’ve looked in my hidden files in the home folder but can’t seem to find the styling file.
