Can't remove video-nvidia-430xx driver towards video-nvidia-450xx

The system fails to install video-nvidia-450xx driver stumbling on removing current video-nvidia-430xx driver.

Attempts:

Remove 450, remove 430 and other packages’ 430 needs, reboot, install 450

Hi,

video-nvidia-450xx is not installed.

First, remove nvidia-xrun. Then try again. Afterwards, you can re-install nvidia-xrun if you need it.

It ended with “Failed to start simple display desktop manager” with NO boot.
Had to
mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300
to t least boot the system.
But now got another issue - no sound over HDMI.

Solved with

mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300

(from another TTY)
