Can't open open myki desktop app from browser

Hello, I installed the myki password manager desktop app and also installed the browser extension but when I try to pair the browser extension with the desktop app by clicking “Click here” after it says “Have a desktop app?” I get a prompt that says “This site is trying to open xdg-open.”. Then I click “Open” and I get an error that says Unable to create io-slave. klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'myki'.
Can anyone help?

I have the same issue on brave browser.
It works fine on firefox though.

Still didn’t fix it me

I’m had the same issue on chrome when trying to join telegram group
