Can't modify display settings via xfce4-display-settings

Hi there,
I am on a laptop with Manjaro i3wm.
When I connect it to a external monitor, I can not configure my display settings using pre-installed xfce4-settings-manager but to change in arandr or xrandr.
This is painful for arandr does not support changing refresh rate or scaling.

Any one with any ideas?

Willing to provide any information if needed.

A fun fact, this morning I tried to boot into a Manjaro KDE live environment and KDE’s display settings are FULLY functional, which I suppose to mean this is not caused by a faulty hardware.

I quite don’t understand why you would use xfce4 software, which is tied to this DE, on a i3wm. Just use xrandr like any i3wm user… use alias commands to shorten it.

i3: i3 User’s Guide

I have to say you are right, for I myself had forgotten if the xfce4-setting manager comes with Manjaro i3wm version or not.

And it turns out xrandr --output DisplayPort-0 --mode 2560x1600 --refresh 120 is exactly what I needed.

For anyone who needs a reminder:
xrandr command needs full arguments,
for instance xrandr --output DisplayPort-0 --refresh 120 would NOT work and give no error feedback. I tried a lot to get it work.
