Can't find Opengl, and mouse feels wobbly

So, I saw 2 cool effects that you can do, they were extensions, burn my windows, and the fly pie extension.
After that I wanted to run them, I went to the settings>desktop behavior and I found the effects their I selected them but then they didn’t work, So I checked and they said that it needs opengl so, I went where I could find opengl under settings> Compositor but the renderer wasn’t there, I haven’t paid special notice before that because my compositor crashed a while ago, but now I noticed that that option is not there anymore, right now I’m trying to find opengl option.
For the fly pie extension it was a gnome shell extension and I found that it was also available for me in the AUR so I installed it but then I noticed that it added other desktops for me when logging in so I removed it, just to be extra sure that it’s not the one that’s causing the issues.

Now for the mouse issue. I have noticed that the mouse feels a little wobbly once I login and everything starts loading, however though, before I login it’s working fine as usual.

You can “find” the OpenGL with this command from terminal:

glxinfo | grep "OpenGL version"

You tagged KDE and you talk about Gnome extensions that only work on Gnome, yet you definitely are talking about KDE Plasma Compositor Settings.

The burn my window effect was ported to KDE Plasma indeed, but is not there yet in spite the comments on the store page Incinerate [Burn-My-Windows] - KDE Store

There is nothing for KDE in that regard. If you want to use that extension, you need to install Gnome. Please don’t mix DEs as you will get in more trouble …

So, not the typical X Y Problem but x y z problem …
Create a TEST user, so we know there is nothing altered in their configs, and see if is all fine there. If it is, then definitely some of your tweaks lead you to some funkiness …
To get better assistance, follow this instructions and share that information

[yamo@Yamo-Legion5 ~]$ glxinfo | grep "OpenGL version"
OpenGL version string: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 22.1.6

I see that the OpenGL is still there, but it is not in my system settings so I am wondering why since I saw that there before, I suspect it could be because my compositor did crash a while ago and I solved the issue with the support in another article but everything is working fine in regards of the compositor now.

Yes indeed I have KDE and saw that I would be able to install them, but they didn’t work so I removed them with all their dependencies.

Thanks for the clarification, it did make me think that something was wrong with my DE since they didn’t work because of the comments.

As for the wobbly feel in the touchpad it’s not always wobbly it’s like it works fine then it gets wobbly, to see where exactly the issue is, I checked the touchpad settings and everything was found there, disabled and enabled the touchpad but that did not solve it. I have also Win10 as a dual boot and it was wobbly there too, So I’m suspecting it’s a hardware issue or maybe a driver issue not sure yet. But in my touchpad’s defense, it never occurred pre-installing those extensions.
I have also google searched on the wobbly feel but I did not manage to find anything related to that.
As of the time of replying the wobbly feel is not there and the touchpad is working fine.

Just wanted to check in with you since it’s been 5 days since our last interaction

The beauty of this forum is that you can check whenever you want. On the other hand, if you do not share the system information as requested in my previous comment, as that tutorial presents it, there is nothing to add from our side.

I am not exactly sure what you are asking me to do, and I did not have any free time because of my job.
So, here is what the system information if I was able to comprehend your request clearly

I have not been able to use my laptop for the past 2 weeks or so, but when I got on to it right now the most annoying part is for sure the wobbly effect of the mouse when inputting through the touchpad.
When I use a wired mouse to input it works just fine.

Also in regards of the compositor, am I like missing a driver or something?

I would be glad to provide you with any info you need, but I need assistance here.

The Compositor Settings will not show any option of OpenGL anymore as KDE Plasma dropped that for Kwin due to the wayland improvements.

Check the
glxinfo | grep -i OpenGL

That should show the AMD GPU, and for the Nvidia one, i think you need to use:
prime-run glxinfo | grep -i OpenGL

but i’m not quite sure, as the AMD-Nvidia hybrid GPU is somehow different so maybe you have to use:
DRI_PRIME=1 glxinfo | grep -i OpenGL

and
DRI_PRIME=0 glxinfo | grep -i OpenGL

Alright, that explains my wonder in regards to it disappearing, so thanks for that.

And in regards to my wobbly mouse it could be a hardware issue, though I have not heard about it yet it could be as the issue appeared in Windows 10 last night so that made me think that it is a hardware issue.
Tried to press on it a little and it seems that it stopped the problem??
Haven’t had the issue since I pressed on it, so it could be that.

If you can open up the mouse and clean the sensors, led and wheel area, it might help. Sometimes very fine dust can pile up and make the mouse act funky.

Will definitely do that today or tomorrow.

Hey, so I have opened up the laptop and cleaned up the touchpad area but the issue is still there.
Got any more ideas?

As an update for whoever will stumble across this problems in the future and needs help this is how I fixed it so far.
For the wobbly mouse: my machine is a lenovo legion 5 15ARH05, there is an option in the function keys to disable the touchpad, when I disabled it and enabled it again it fixed all the issue with the wobbly mouse and I didn’t have it anymore.
For the compositor: bogdancovaciu did say that it was no longer there as an option to be controlled but I did see that it crashed multiple times, on another topic that was opened I did see that someone mentioned that there was a fix for it that he found from reddit by turning on Background contrast. System settings > Workspace behavior > Appearance > Background contrast.
