Can't Detect All in One Printer HP deskjet 4200

Hi Everyone!

I have always used the same printer and never have any problem with it, now I’m doing a fresh install and while it detect the device, it can’t find the correct driver, then i check it on the kde printers thingy and the model is not in the list, maybe this is because I’m using the free drivers options? I don’t use any nvidia thing… :upside_down_face:

The printer is connected via Usb…

What should i do?? :fearful:

Edit: the scanner is working trough gnome scanner program installed as flapak
I don’t know what to say… the printer is still not detected X3

Have you got manjaro-printer installed?

Hi @Jose_Rondon

You can also use the CUPS interface; perhaps these links will be of use:

I hope this helps. Cheers.

Hi,

I connect my printer this way:

pamac install --no-confirm manjaro-printer hplip-plugin avahi
sudo gpasswd -a your username sys
sudo systemctl enable --now cups.service
sudo systemctl enable --now cups.socket
sudo systemctl enable --now cups.path
sudo systemctl enable --now avahi-daemon.service

http://localhost:631

choose find new printer

When using the scanner simple-scan is a nice small program.

pamac install --no-confirm simple-scan

It’s not necessarily what I might have chosen; however, the OP has marked a solution that suited him. Cheers.
