Can't connect to my ledger

Hello,
For some time, I can’t connect to my ledger with manjaro. Does anyone have a solution?
thx in advance

Please excuse my ignorance:
what is that ledger
and where is it
and how do you usually use it?

it’s just a usb stick to store some crypto. before the last update, it worked smoothless.

I will be as curt as you are.
Maybe it broke?
No one knows any useful thing to even begin to help you.
Provide hardware and system information and logs.

sorry im a noob, i don’t know how to provide that to you, log from manjaro. i could give you a .json file (log from the ledger program).

since it is a USB device - and you say you can’t somehow not use it anymore:

for instance do provide the terminal output of the following command:

sudo dmesg -W
or - this is the same, just a different notation:
sudo dmesg --follow-new

while you physically disconnect the device (pull it out)
then plug it in again
then disconnect again

copy/paste the output here - and format it using this button: </> in the top of the edit window

you stop the command (which will otherwise keep running) by typing CTRLc

then please do others the courtesy of reading the introductory threads on how to provide good information
so that you can help them helping you

ok i’m searching now for the introductory threads

Is that some kind of specialty encrypted device?

Because:
no partition(s) on it seem to be present

… nothing to mount, in order to access the content

Something proprietary?

I plug it in USB. I have to make a code because yes it is encrypted. then I use it to validate orders with wallets on chrome.

if you can, boot another kernel - an -rt kernel may have problems that “normal” kernels do not exhibit.

It’s a rare case that you benefit from using an -rt kernel - but you probably have your reasons.

That is not enough information.
Not for me anyway
to understand how it is supposed to work and how it used to work.

Something automatically prompted you for a passphrase
to unlock it and then mount it to get to the encrypted contents?

Is that what you used to do in Windows?
Or did that work like that in Linux before?

after a cursory google it appears that you need a special software
to be able to access the device
it is available for linux - and in the AUR as well

But you would have to research on your own which of the many results is the relevant one for you:

AUR (en) - Packages

I had the same problem, and this resolution method worked well:
“https:// support . ledger. com/hc/ en-us/articles/ 115005165269-Fix-USB-connection-issues-with-Ledger-Live?support=true”
Sorry for all the spaces, I can’t add links
If you want to be sure of the origin, go on google and look for “manjaro hid device ledger”
In the Linux sub-section, the “udev rules” script did work for me
Good luck

There is an AUR package for udev rules for ledger devices:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ledger-udev

thx for your help,

when i plug the ledger, i just have to put a code and it’s work. its should work too without the ledger program. I use the same device on windows.

thx for the others, i will watch the solution

thx !! it worked
