I use the cromium browser but noticed that the right click does not work. When I had Zorin OS installed I had the same problem but could change my session to the GNOME on Xorg version and it would work perfectly. I wanted to do the same here because it thought it would be the same but according to the internet GNOME 49 does not support X11? Why? and how can I fix this issue with wayland.
Because the GNOME developers decided to only support Wayland anymore. KDE Plasma is also scheduled to drop all X11 support as of Plasma 6.8, which is due in the second half of this year.
Hi thank you! i’ m running wayland on KDE to and having no problems… I think it was a problem on GNOME .
Well, I am using chromium in Plasma on Wayland, and I do not have the problem you’re describing. A right-click in chromium works normally here. ![]()
I used to run GNOME on wayland but it didnt work there. In plasma it does
I guess it’ s a GNOME problem
It would seem so, but I don’t have any experience with GNOME, so I’m going to have to leave that question open to those who do. ![]()
Do not try it please
It is design first usability second…
I have no intention of doing so. I hate GNOME. ![]()
There is no such issue with KDE Plasma and Wayland – Right/Click works as expected in the Chromium browser, as it does everywhere else.

@KAASPLANK3333 (Thanks mod for letting me know)
Been running Chromium on Manjaro GNOME under wayland for years and right-click works perfectly. Must be a KDE thing. ![]()
Well, a GNOME thing, considering it was GNOME that the OP was running.
I’ve personally not experienced the issue described, in any browser (and I use many).
As you used the past tense, and haven’t commented since, I’ll resume the problem has found a resolution, and the topic will be closed.
If in the unlikely case that the issue remains, and you would like the topic re-opened, please send a PM to @moderators.
