This update may be the last stretch for Manjaro for me, just went through three complete TimeShift cycles to learn that Bluez effectively is at constant conflict and I cannot switch Bluetooth/Wifi back on because of the dropped X11 support from 25.1 version and beyond so I’m back on 25.0.7
Too many version drop backs and I have no idea what I can or cannot get updated. So i’m back on 6.15.9-2 Kernel and thinking about the next distro while I have access to all my files. I hear Mint is still supporting X11 completely or Fedora
There is no “this update” in Unstable branch - updates arrive pretty much every day (which is why a new Unstable Update topic is created for each month, rather than a specific day).
Are you sure that you have posted in the correct thread for your branch? Your user profile says that you are on Stable branch, and you posted in the Stable branch update 1 day ago:
Also, you have provided no helpful information at all. We have no idea which branch you are on, which desktop environment you are using (Plasma, Gnome, Xfce etc), or what type of machine you are running.
That kernel went EOL almost a year ago, and is unsupported. With the recent kernel issues found by AI, you system is vulnerable due to running an unpatched kernel.
If you are going to roll back to an older kernel, please try to use a supported LTS kernel such as 6.12.
Regarding bluez, I switched to Unstable branch from Testing 10 days ago, and have experienced no issues with my bluetooth speaker on either branch.
Yep, just saw that afte checking a bit, looks like Mint is fairest bet.
Yes, I know that X11 shouldn’t have an effect on being able to switch Bluetooth/Wifi on but there appears to be conflcting plug-in issues when I’m updating now and it is looking like a nightmare to sort. Honestly noting that my scenario is not typical since my Timeshift was taken from way back, I should of had a more recent version handy
The problem with arch derivatives is you have to invest time to learn to manage them. You were probably in an unsupported state even before the timeshift drama.
So mint sounds indeed a better choice for you.
