I probably set that one manually at some point as I’m indeed in Belgium. I still fail to begin to understand why certain programs need to (temporarily?) change the locale as shown here from a human language to C to run. I’ve had this old workaround (not mine) line
Exec=$(export LC_ALL=C; mkvtoolnix-gui) %F`
in the aforementioned mkvtoolnix-gui.desktop so that the program would launch. And so in this attempt to fix plasma, I renamed it to no avail. Hence the org.kde.plasma.kicker: Entry is not valid "applications:org.bunkus.mkvtoolnix-gui.desktop" 0x55bd8e8de5b0 red herring. Sorry I forgot about it.
But the locale thing, even if it may not be the reason for plasmashell failing, is concerning still as now I notice that the locale warning is more universal than previously thought

noting that all these programs launch normally despite the warning, including plasmashell which launches, loads everything, then dies after those last lines ... Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped) are displayed.
At any rate, I will follow the mods’ advice, I had no idea rolling releases were supposed to be updated this often, I thought it was optional. I will do a fresh install and investigate these snapshot solutions and adapt to the new “lifestyle”. I’ve been lucky for years, even the year old update jump to plasma 6 had been smooth enough. I had even swapped this SDD from another machine to this laptop seamlessly, I guess a fresh install was way overdue.

I have no idea what any of this means but yes I guess my plasma config was too old then. Hopefully someone in KDE can spot the problem with these outputs. I’ll go the fresh install route regardless. Thanks again.
Edit 3: I narrowed it down to /home/manuel/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/com.samirgaire10.Deepl-plasma6. Is that precise enough to mark this as solved?
