Cannot pair xbox one controller via bluetooth

i have 2 controllers:

  • one is the xbox one s controller (white one with audio jack). this one work flawlessly. I just have to disable ertm as per archlinux gamepad instruction here and voila.

  • the other one is xbox one controller (black one without audio jack). this one simply doesn’t work. I hold the pair button for a while til the xbox button blinks but manjaro cannot detect it like the other one.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Or maybe how can I debug it?

The older xbox one controllers aren’t Bluetooth, they’re some kind of MS proprietary wireless tech. You’d need the MS wireless dongle if you want to use that. It should work via usb cable though.
