Cannot pair to bluetooth keyboard. Auth timeout

hi. I bought this keyboard Fosmon Mini Bluetooth Keyboard (QWERTY Keypad), Wireless Portable with Touchpad and I cannot pair to it.

I tried to pair with my smartphone and it works there.

Now when I try on my manjaro PC, here is what happens:

bluetoothctl
[bluetooth] pair DC:2C:26:D0:A0:26C:26:D0:A0:26
Attempting to pair with DC:2C:26:D0:A0:26
[CHG] Device DC:2C:26:D0:A0:26 Connected: yes
[Bluetooth Keyboard]# [agent] PIN code: 805560
[Bluetooth Keyboard]# Failed to pair: org.bluez.Error.AuthenticationTimeout
[CHG] Device DC:2C:26:D0:A0:26 Connected: no

When I type the PIN, nothing happens. Then the authentication times-out.

I don’t understand why I have to type a pin. My android phone does not ask me that.

I tried a few things from this SO post to no avail. I don’t have the hciconfig command.

Can someone give a few advise? How to bypass this PIN code?

Is the keyboard still paired with the phone when you try? … There may be a setting to pair with a blank or user-defined PIN? I might be hallucinating but I’m sure I saw OpenBox mentioned. I know such settings are possible in KDE Plasma.
