When my computer has my regular amount of programs running (i.e. too much RAM), it won’t enter sleep mode, instead logging me off and “rebooting” (I guess) the log-in screen.
However, when I stop most of the programs (i.e. clear up some RAM), then it can enter sleep mode fine.
In any case, this was done with plenty of swap available and zswap off.
Output of journalctl
contains an error report from nvidia-suspend.sh
AFAIU.
Different logs from my test:
- I close every program
- I launch a toplevel (
utop
) and allocate a large thing so that my RAM is filled systemctl suspend
All of this were done one right after the other, after I had filled my RAM
