Cannot create a partition?

Hello i am trying to format my flash drive to ext4 fs/ ntfs but every time i open a partition app i get this error

been unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use. You should reboot now before making further changes.

this occurs in gparted, kde partion manager, gnome disks , and when i type partprobe /dev/sda on any partition

how do i fix this thanks

error with only linux58 testing (and more ?), use another kernel…

I know there’s an issue with gparted and kernel 5.8 on testing branch not sure if its related. I’d certainly try a different kernel/partitioning app
