Can you burn an ISO to a stick with persistence

In order for me to give Manjaro a try with a live USB I need to get the Wifi up and running. To do so I must modprobe and add a sdio.txt and reboot. Without a persistence on the stick, all would be lost on reboot.

Is it possible?

I’m trying to figure out why the iso is created on the stick in read only mode. I do it to a lot of distros to try out and I think Manjaro is the only distro that becomes read only.

Hopefully this answers your questions.

I guess when you come from Ubuntu and Debian based systems you mean casper: Ubuntu Manpage: casper - a hook for initramfs-tools to boot live systems.

In general it is possible, but Manjaro don’t support that and you need to build your own ISO for this use case.

It is easier to install Manjaro directly on a USB Stick. In this scenario you would need 2 USB sticks.
