Can bluetooth work, I may need to use voice typing

I injure one of my finger, and have to voice-type… but bluetooth doesn’t work pair with motherboard. Can you fix bluetooth, so I can use on-screen keyboard to voice type. E-mails, texting, and calling using Signal (Signal (messaging app) - Wikipedia) on Manjaro is kinda important. Thanks.

You’ve already been reminded of the Forum Rules which includes How to Post.

Please also see [HowTo] Request support and provide more details accordingly.

Bluetooth pairs, or “connects” and then, “disconnected” message… why? Why i cannot connect with bluetooth and stay connected… why have to switch to different kernel… why have to apply all these workarounds like on internet. Is possible to have google keyboard on Manjaro with gboard voice assist (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin&hl=en&gl=US&pli=1, Use Google Assistant to type with your voice - Gboard Help, The best dictation and speech-to-text software in 2024 | Zapier)… If bluetooth doesn’t work at manjaro kernal-level, or connect, how will it work on android emulator…

Using linux requires having to read forums and troubleshoot things. without knowing your CPU, motherboard, and other system information it is really hard to help Users out, even some basic error logs to why your bluetooth is disconnecting would help us out greatly

there are different kernels in your system because some work better on different hardware and some of them are for testing branch purposes only, they also have kernels that are for LTS which stands for LONG TERM SUPPORT, these will have 5 years of security updates and bug fixes,

Linux requires solving problems, and you will run into issues at some point and will have to read thoroughly through forums to find an answer and some help, I hope your problem gets solved soon

are you trying to connect your phone by chance? if so look into KDE connect it might be a better option

Not “we”, but you.

So far, “we” don’t know anything about your hardware.

Without knowing that, “we” can’t even begin to make meaningful suggestions.

It should be obvious to you that this is not nearly enough information - and thus no one could tell you “why?”.

inxi -Fazy
and
system logs capturing the fruitless connection attempts would give “us” something to go on.
for instance:
journalctl -f
in a terminal, while you attempt to connect and it fails
copy/paste all that and “we” might have a clue.
(the command creates output as things happen - a live view on what the system sees currently happening)

All the best for you and your finger!
I hope you don’t get a cold as well - impairing your speech. :sunglasses:

I am don’t know if formatted correctly, but i “copy as html” and paste in between </> like you said

Why?

Simply mark the terminal output and copy then paste.
(I have never even seen the option to “copy as html” when in a terminal)

Terminal output is just text - not html.

If it looks the same as in your terminal, it was correct.
If it doesn’t look like that … it wasn’t correct. :man_shrugging:

BTW:
not another post - just go back and edit the previous one …

ps:
just like that
Thank you!

Also, whilst considering the onscreen option … personally I can’t imagine a single finger preventing typing (or was it bound to another finger?).

I favour the following:

  1. When passing text to my wife (and I can’t type Thai, so I always use this for Thai) I open Telegram on my phone/tablet and dictate from a mobile device… this because text to speech isn’t trivial… and mobile devices are already well set up to make it easy.

  2. Directly on the computer, a microphone works well with cloud services, especially for inputting text to translate and either copying it directly, or copying a translation.

No, it wasn’t bound to another finger, per say, but my finger is pretty busted… I kinda really need an all-around, voice-typing for Manjaro operating system… like system-wide… if possible… I kind of feel helpless and vulnerable… almost disabled… can this be something of the future…?

Thanks, Nachlese.
