After an upgrade, calibre doesn’t crash but is invisible.
Was it complete?
sudo pacman -Syu
Is calibre the repo version?
pacman -Qs calibre
Maybe the terminal produces clues?
calibre
Yes it was.
Yes:
local/calibre 7.8.0-2
BTW, I’m using the testing channel.
Running calibre
produces no output in the terminal.
Maybe check gnome-extensions?
They can be a source of confusing behavior.
Well lets do the system info thing ;
inxi -Farz
I have just run pacman -Syyu
to make sure everything is up to date.
This is the output of inxi -Farz

I’m running Calibre 7.9.0 on Plasma 6.0.4/Wayland, and it works fine.
If you have CALIBRE_USE_SYSTEM_THEME
try to remove it from your environment. This will force Calibre to you its built-in Qt theme instead of searching for external one.
Why are you adding that foreign repo to Manjaro?
I want to be able to test nix
.
I haven’t set that AFAIK. Running
env | grep CALIBRE_USE_SYSTEM_THEME
returns nothing.
Today I ran sudo pacman -Syyu
and after restarting I have calibre back.
Please only use:
sudo pacman -Syu
…when performing an update (Notice, there should only be one y
). Using -Syyu
as you have been consistently demonstrating, is incorrect, and potentially damaging.
Cheers.
