I’ve just received a Brother MFC-J4335DW printer and though it has Linux drivers it’s not Manjaro wise. So the printer is not in the CUPS database but I found a .ppd driver specific to the unit and CUPS installed it (USB) and shows it as such. Problem is it doesn’t print though the log shows the files as completed just not on paper. Anyone had this issue? Before anyone asks, I ran the installer but it hangs on a required rpm package which contained the one thing I needed the .ppd (specific to his unit) file. I’m stumped.
Did you try installing the AUR (en) - brother-mfc-j4335dw driver from the AUR (pamac build brother-mfc-j4335dw
)?

It is very likely the debian driver has been converted to an AUR PKGBUILD.
Search for the printer on https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/?K=j4335dw
I have a Brother MFC-Jxxxx printer and the AUR driver works well.
Thanks for the info, works great. I should have done that but thought that with some of the words about AUR drivers that it might be an issue. No guts, no glory!
