Hi all, I’ve been using Manjaro for about 1.5 years, and in that time I’ve used GNOME, XFCE, and now finally Wayland KDE. When I switched to KDE about 4 months ago, I noticed in certain KDE-related applications that the theming that I’m using seems to be broken: dark-color fonts on dark backgrounds, and other very odd and obviously wrong behaviors. Attached are examples. I’ve been dealing with this for quite a while, but I figured I’d see if anyone here can help resolve it. Thanks!
You should normally be able to customize/fine-tune the colors via… 
System Settings → Appearance →Colors
After you’ve saved your color scheme, you may need to log out and log back in.
rm -rf ~/.cache/
reboot
The thing with KDE is that it’s a rabbit hole.
Something I tended to do for a while was to edit colour schemes - just hit the menu and type ‘colours’ and load up something similar to what you want.
Let’s go with Card-Original, hit the pencil to edit, then ‘Save As…’ and I tend to put a number (for ranking at the top) - so we’ll save it as 02 Card1.
Now play with the colours in that. For my main dark theme, I started by taking all of the saturation away - a totally greyscale theme to adjust the contrasts, and then it’s quite easy to add some tints and things later.
Plain themes work well with the tint from wallpaper (so the icons/highlights don’t clash)… but when it is an issue, sometimes instead of editing I just go to colours and load up my lighter theme.
There are a lot of issues with colour schemes included with stuff you download - but there are literally at least a hundred that work. Find something close, clone and tweak.
The location to bookmark in Dolphin is ~/.local/share/color-schemes/ so a bit of direct access means it’s no problem to go in and delete en-masse when you’re happy and backed up.
