Borrar os en disco

Hola, buenas tardes, tengo so Ubuntu en disco hdd y deseo borrarlo y utilizar este disco para datos, fotos, archivos, etc. pregunta, ¿ debo usar Gparted o se realiza de otra manera?. Muchas gracias.

Sí. Puedes usar Gparted para formatear la partición.

En mi caso uso gparted o gnome-disk, en cuanto a formato si lo vas a usar exclusivamente en un ambiente linux podés usar ext4 , si lo vas a usar en un ambiente dual(linux-windows) te conviene NTFS(para poder verlo en los 2 sistemas). Al ser un disco “grande” no usaria FAT32 porque no te permite copiar archivos que tengan mas de 4GB. Además, si el disco es grande haria 2 particiones: 1 para guardar datos(con el formato que más te guste) y otra de 20 a 50 GB con formato ext4 para backup del SO(usando timeshift)
