Bootsplash appears broken on linux519

I use bootsplash for my splash screen using the instructions in the wiki. It works fine up to and including linux518. Doesn’t work at all on linux519 on either of my laptops. I found a discussion on gitlab about it but I am not a developer, and in any case the conversationees seem to believe it is fixed. Is this something that is likely to be fixed if I am patient, or should I be moving on to something else now? if so what (plymouth?).

Any help greatly appreciated

Yeah, it will likely be fixed in the next update to the linux519 package.
