Boot error: Failed to start D-Bus System Message Bus

Actually, I was thinking that you should first uninstall pamac, reboot, and then install it again. This may or may not resolve the issue, but is worth trying to start with.

As the files in question are all related to pamac-gtk, try:

sudo pacman -Rns pamac-gtk

(Reboot for good measure) and then:

sudo pacman -Syu pamac-gtk

With any luck that might solve the pamac-gtk issue.

Updating dbus-broker failed

I should point out that updating dbus-broker did not fail; you simply did it wrong.

Notice that this is merely a warning that dbus-broker (the same version) is already installed.

If you want to update a package in Manjaro, you only need one command:

sudo pacman -Syu

What you did was to try and install dbus-broker; the same version was already installed. In any case, it’s best to avoid updating single packages as this can potentially leave you in an unsupported state.

Manjaro packages should not be updated individually. Possible exceptions include containerised apps and packages from the AUR.

As I’m largely unfamiliar with luks on Manjaro I’m unable to help with troubleshooting encrypted partitions. From what I’ve managed to glean from your previous posts it’s quite possible you have more corruption; as yet undiscovered.

The fastest way back to a working system may well be to reinstall from scratch. If you opt to do that, I’d suggest not encrypting during install (it can be done later) and make absolutely sure everything works as expected before encrypting.

Yes, you should probably have included that information.

Also, if you are using BTRFS, that would be a vital tidbit to add to the first post, as it drastically changes procedures that might be needed to both diagnose or repair the system.

Please provide the inxi output from the Manjaro Live Installer environment instead. Some information may not be as accurate, but it should still indicate enough to be useful to others wishing to help.

The community repo hasn’t existed for over a year. This isn’t a major issue in itself, but it is a solid indicator that your system hasn’t been maintained as well as it could have been.

And research as much as you can about .pacnew and .pacsave files, and the importance of attending to them.
