Bluetooth not working after update

I updated my system today (stable update). After restart, my system does not connect to bluetooth devices any more and I also cannot pair.

The GUI system settings show me “bluetooth is disabled” and clicking the enable button has no effect. It lets me however scan for available devices, but doesn’t find anything.

According to systemctl status bluetooth, the bluetooth service is running.

I tried nevertheless systemctl stop bluetooth, systemctl start bluetooth. As expected, no effect. I see the warning about configuration directory, but have no idea where this configuration directory is located or which config would be correct.

rfkill list bluetooth shows no blocks:

bluetoothctl list shows nothing as output.

Welcome to the Manjaro community @mba

Try doing a full shutdown, turn the power off for a minute or so, turn the power back on & restart your machine (aka as a “cold boot”).

I’m not sure why this happens, but occasionally after a system update which includes firmware updates, a cold boot is required.

If that does not work, more troubleshooting may be necessary. To do that, please read through the following pre-prepared instructions:

As a new or infrequent forum user, you are encouraged to take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements; in particular, the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:

The Update Announcements contain a Known Issues and Solutions section and should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

Output of the inxi command (with appropriate parameters, and formatted according to forum guidelines) will generate information useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8

or the short form (preferred):

inxi -zv8

Regards.

I had several cold boots in the meanwhile, this did not resolve the problem.

The Stable Update Announcements have no known issue related to bluetooth. However, since my original post, someone reported the same problem.

The resources around bluetooth issues I found all recommend restarting bluetooth service using systemctl or unblocking with rfkill which does not resolve the problem in my case.

Output of inxi -zv8:
