Bluetooth Headset does not reconnect

Usually my headphones reconnect after I take them out of their box. But not on Manjaro. I see that the Bluetooth manager “connects” to them but there is no audio connection to them.

Is there something I need to do first?

there is a package called

bluetooth-autoconnect

in the aur. highly-possible that it solves your issue. for me it solved that with my apple-mouse and keyboard.

Sadly this did not help me. After install and reboot the problem persists.

My headphones do seem to connect, but no audio is selectable. Only after I manually disconnect and then click on connect again in the Bluetooth manager have I audio selectable and working.

please check this out, the related link might also be valuable for you

To make your headset auto connect you need to enable PulseAudio's switch-on-connect module. Do this by adding the following lines to /etc/pulse/default.pa:

/etc/pulse/default.pa

### Automatically switch to newly-connected devices

Thanks for the tips and the link.

It is still not working right now. I will switch to Manjaro Gnome and will test the bluetooth options with that version and report back.

EDIT: Still does not work. My MX Master 2 reconnects smoothly and is immediately usable, but headphones just connect but are not acitvated as an audio output. I always need to disconnect and manually connect to the headphones for it to work.

EDIT2: If I get out of range of my PC without putting my headphones in their case - they loose connection, but after coming back into range of it they are correctly connected and audio is output. Only when I put them in my case / turn them off, they are not reconnected to audio output.
