Bluetooth cannot find any devices

Hey all, my bluetooth cannot find any devices. I’ve already checked the forums for solutions but nothing of it seems to be working. (at least I now know what data to show here for you smarter people)

systemctl status bluetooth

○ bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)
     Active: inactive (dead)
       Docs: man:bluetoothd(8)

Jul 10 19:03:01 Dennis systemd[1]: Bluetooth service was skipped because of a failed condition check (ConditionPathIsDirectory=/sys/class/bluetooth).

I’m not going to be much help but obviously your bluetooth is not turned on.
Mine shows up as
Active: active (running) since Sun 2022-07-10 05:46:48 PDT; 10h ago
and I’m not connected to any device right now.

It might be KDE or it could be your bios that has it turned off.

Oh yea weird how I overlooked that, but I think it was active yesterday as well. I have googled for commands but can’t seem to enable it

Your locale needs checking

You have - accidently - hit the hardware Fn key disabling wireless - which includes bluetooth

Will fix locales! Do you by any chance know what FN key that is? or do I just have to test them all

it is defined by vendor - look closely at the keys - usually a small antenna in blue - which shows it requires the Fn + that key

Yea I checked them all but none seem to be for bluetooth:

  • Mute
  • Decrease volume
  • Increase volume
  • Decrease brightness
  • Increase brightness
  • Disable touchpad
  • Keyboard backlight
  • Extend screen
  • Log out
  • Disable camera
  • Screen snip
  • Asus logo I think, I just use it as boot key

Those are all the ones I have, so i’m kinda unsure how I would’ve disabled bluetooth using them

EDIT:

This seems to be the issue

Solutions from asus reddit (can’t link :() which worked for me:

  1. Turn off the PC.
  2. Unplug power cable to PSU.
  3. Hold power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug power back into PSU.
  5. Boot PC."
