Bluetooth audio issues

Anyone having BT audio issues? My Bluetooth Headphones (AirPods) are cutting in and out like crazy on YouTube after this update. Not sure what logs or debug info I can send, so please let me know, and I can attach it.

Using Gnome DE on Wayland. Just updated via the Testing Update Branch to Linux 6.16.6-1-MANJARO Kernel.

Hi @A4orce84 ,
Please, provied the outpud of the following terminal command:

inxi -v7azy

and also

pactl list sources

Also you could find help from Apple itself.
If the sound from your wireless headphones cuts out or is distorted - Apple Support

May be I could help you afterwards,
Regards

Your post has been moved to a dedicated topic.

Please provide any detail that might be relevant, along with system information as described (below). Outputs from the following might be useful to those wishing to help;

cat /etc/*-release
pacman -Q sof-firmware alsa-utils alsa-tools pipewire pipewire-{alsa,jack,media-session,pulse}
pactl list cards
pactl list sinks
pactl list sources
amixer scontents
sudo dmesg | egrep -E '(snd|sound|sof|hda|alsa)'

Please use appropriate pre-formatted text boxes (</>) for all code or command output. I’m sure someone will help when they are able.

Regards.

Welcome to the Manjaro community

As a new or infrequent forum user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements, and the many ways to use the forum to your benefit.

To that end, links are provided (below) - Please use them.

Be prepared to provide outputs from various commands when asked. It’s equally important to provide as much actionable information as possible in your first post, rather than simply indicating there is a problem.

Waiting for someone to blindly ask questions is also counter-productive – typically, nobody has a :crystal_ball: at their disposal – Instead, please help others to make informed suggestions, based on information you provide.

Update Announcements

The Update Announcements contain important information and a Known Issues and Solutions section that should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

System Information

While information from *-fetch type apps might be fine for someone wishing to buy your computer, for Support purposes it’s better to ask your system directly; :eyes:

Output of the inxi command (with appropriate parameters, and formatted according to forum guidelines) will generate information useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8

or the short form (preferred):

inxi -zv8

PipeWire · Wiki · Troubleshooting - Bluetooth - Debugging

  1. systemctl --user stop wireplumber.service if using systemctl, otherwise something like pkill -f wireplumber. Disconnect Bluetooth device.
  2. Run from command line with:
WIREPLUMBER_DEBUG="spa.bluez5*:4,pw.context:3,s-monitors:4,m-lua-scripting:4,s-device:4" wireplumber > pipewire-bluez.log 2>&1
  1. Connect Bluetooth device, and cause the problem behavior.
  2. Stop Wireplumber with ctrl-C and attach the produced pipewire-bluez.log to the issue. It contains information of what PipeWire tried to do during the connection.

Also check if dmesg contains messages about missing Bluetooth firmware. There have been issues where the proper firmware was not getting installed for devices

check linux-firmware-intel is installed for Intel AX210 Bluetooth device

ArchWiki - Bluetooth headset - Disable WirePlumber auto-switching

WirePlumber has profile auto-switching enabled by default. It can automatically switch between HSP/HFP and A2DP profiles whenever an input stream is detected. You can disable it with the following command:

wpctl settings --save bluetooth.autoswitch-to-headset-profile false

Output is attached below for each command:

cat /etc/*-release
