Hi @solex – Just a few tips in the meantime:
I imagine this issue might be difficult for some who wish to help. The presence of the KVM may add a level of complexity that deters potential responses; plus, it was the weekend, which tends to be slow sometimes.
I suspect the issue might not have much to do with the KVM; I have seen several other mentions of similar issues (without a KVM).
For the time being, I suggest shutting down the Laptop completely before switching and then switch before turning on the Desktop machine. An alternative is to disconnect the KVM.
This is not meant to solve anything in the grand scheme of things, but to make it easier to diagnose the problem (without the switching getting in the way) and report back your findings when someone asks. This only needs to be done while working the problem.
You appear to be multi-booting with Windows; is this correct?
(I ask only for the benefit of others who might miss it.)
It was more than info.
Have you installed kernel 6.12 as suggested?
Please tell us the result of any suggestions made; keep us informed; also tell us if a suggestion didn’t work, or if you didn’t do it (and why).
As long as you can still login (even via TTY) you can still follow (most) suggestions given. Where that isn’t possible, you can boot to the Live Desktop of the Manjaro Installer ISO, and use it’s Terminal to enter a chroot environment; there (as the root user) you will be able to perform other diagnostics/repairs if/when asked.
I have linked the following tutorial – not because it’s necessarily needed – but because it explains how to enter a chroot environment, if needed later.
So, there are always options available, once the cause is known.
I’m sure someone will offer help when they are able.
Regards.
