I have a fairly new install of Manjaro GNOME on X11. In the normal desktop view, there is a small black square in the upper left corner of the screen (see image below).
This is not a pixel issue, if the screen lock is on, the black square is not there. Also, if I Show All Applications, it goes away.
I can’t figure out what is causing it. I will note, not sure if this is a clue, but when Manjaro starts up the mouse icon is a box, then it turns into an X.
I’m thinking it may be related to some widget that itself may have some error … or otherwise something like the chosen icon theme not having a corresponding icon.
I dont use gnome but extensions are a common source of inconsistencies.
Thanks @cscs . Yeah, I tried disabling all extensions, but then the top bar is black. So I can’t see whether it is there or not.
This is the transparent top bar extension I use. I use it on other installs of Manjaro – both on this machine an others – and the problem does not present.
